What is a “miscast” cabaret?
In a miscast cabaret, you perform roles you wouldn’t typically be considered for! The results are sometimes hilarious, and sometimes thought-provoking.
This includes:
-
Roles you’re wrong for: A female-presenting Gaston, a male-presenting Glinda, a 45-year old Annie, a baritone Marian Paroo, a non-dancer Velma Kelly… the only limit is your imagination!
-
Roles society has TOLD you you’re wrong for: There is no reason why a plus-sized performer shouldn’t play Elle Woods, a performer of color shouldn’t play Elsa, or a disabled performer shouldn’t play Tarzan. Defy your “type,” choose your dream song, and knock it out of the park!
Please note this is a volunteer/unpaid performance opportunity.
Auditions due by JULY 5.
Shows: Friday, August 16 + Saturday, August 17 at 7:00 PM
